The Massage Therapy Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of the 2016 Student Practitioner Case Report Contest. This year, the Grand Prize Gold Award has been awarded to Alta Schwab (pictured above) from the Center for Neuromatic Studies in Clearwater, Florida. Her winning case report was titled “The Use of Massage to Increase the Performance of a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Athlete by Increasing Range.” As the first place winner, Schwab will receive a $2,500 cash award, contingent upon undergoing the peer review process with the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (IJTMB) or another peer reviewed scholarly journal. Additionally, she will be invited to present her report at the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) National Convention that takes place in September 2017 in Pasadena, California.
